  • Simon Cowell and Syco announce new animated movie themed on X Factor

Simon Cowell and Syco Entertaiment in partnership with GFM Animation, Threshold Entertainment announce a new animated movie ‘X FACTOR IN THE JUNGLE'. The movie is based on Simon Cowell’s multi award winning singing competition phenomenon TV series The X Factor. The series has run for 20 years with 178 international adaptations with artists discovered by The X Factor – including artists such as One Direction, Fifth Harmony, Little Mix, Olly Murs, Leona Lewis and James Arthur – selling more than 500 million records worldwide, making it the most prolific TV show in history for finding chart superstars. When a karaoke machine is tossed overboard from a sinking boat it lands in a jungle and is seized by a diminutive mouse who is quickly challenged by both a Jaguar and Rhino, who each want it. A sing off ensues to determine who will have it and this attracts a huge audience of animals and creatures who demand a song contest open to all. We all share the same vision for this fun, positive, family-friendly movie and of course I’m equally really excited for the soundtrack too. Ive always wanted to make animated movies and I plan for this to be the first of many!” The film is targeting a worldwide 4 quadrant audience. It promises and will deliver a great cinematic experience for all age groups who love music and fun. The budget will enable top level voice casting and music collaboration fitting for this movie."

  • Simon Cowell opens up on how therapy helped him overcome stress

Simon Cowell has spoken about the stress he endured during years of making shows like X factor and Britain's Got Talent. Speaking at the Advertising Week Europe event in London, he explained how he saw himself as talentless in the early days and how difficult it was financially. Simon said "Once I started to make some money, I bought a Porsche, bought a house. By the time I was 28, I was broke and I had to go back and live with my parents". He began to realise success doesn't come overnight, you had to stick with your plans and move forward. "What it taught me was that I was rushing. I wanted everything to happen overnight. If you're not born with a talent, you learn, you watch, you listen, and then you learn from your mistakes and your successes." Britain's Got Talent was a prime example as when presenting it to producers they didn't like it. Simon had to go back to the drawing board and start again, Three years later he had a hit show. As we know, both shows turned into monumental successes but this brought Simon more problems as he stressed about the ratings. About a year ago Simon decided it was time to see a therapist about his stress problem. Saying: 'I wish I'd done it 20 years ago, because this is a very stressful business.' He said: 'Having an outlet once a week where you can just talk in what I call a safe space and just talk about how you're feeling and no-one's judging you... I would say to anybody, just do it. 'It's nothing to be ashamed of. It's like exercising your brain, in the same way you exercise your body.' 'I think it was a very American thing years ago, "I'm seeing my therapist" and as Brits we never quite understood that. 'But, no, these people are really great people and they're trained and their job is to make you work out what you think is a problem and they tell you it's not quite the problem you think it is.' He joked that his therapy sessions would 'be the best reality show in the world', adding, 'the couple's one in particular, trust me. Everything's about perspective. There's always people who will do better than you and people who may not do as well as you. And you've just got to find your balance, where you feel comfortable.' He admitted that his obsession with TV ratings for his shows had not helped his well-being. 'I used to be obsessed with the ratings. Now, I don't look at ratings. I just look at what we're making and if I think it's good, that is enough for me.' He added: 'But I think if you're driven just by numbers, it will actually drive you, seriously, nuts. And it started to drive me nuts.'

  • Britain's Got Talent is back this weekend with a new judge

Britain's Got Talent returns with a double bill this weekend and a brand new judge. Bruno Tonioli joins Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon. Bruno replaces David Walliams who stepped down last year. It sounds like Bruno is causing chaos already on the judging panel. Bruno has judging experience having previously appeared on Strictly between 2004 and 2019. Simon Cowell said about the new judge ''When you’re doing Strictly, all you’ve got is a bat or something, right? That’s boring. 'This is a punctuation mark, which is the red buzzer. He was like a kid having these things to press while he was judging. I think he found that having those, the whole process was easier.' Apparently no one told Bruno he was only to press the Golden Buzzer after the act was finished. Bruno explained 'Alesha gave me a brief, but then I forgot everything she told me! I think that was obvious when I pressed my golden buzzer at the wrong time on the first day! 'They were like, "Here are the rules, you press it then, not then", but that went out the window, I honestly got caught up in the moment, forgot everything I'd been told and just reacted instinctively.' Simon revealed the audience had more of say this year with the Golden Buzzer. There were more Golden Buzzers this year. We have eight. I don't want to give too much away but there was one Golden Buzzer moment. I think in all the years, I've done this show because, you know, it wasn't really supposed to happen because we run out [of buzzers]." "It was kind of chaotic at this moment because the audience really dictated it, they did not let this go [for this act]. They're not going to leave. So we kind of said you know what, why don't we just give the audience a Golden Buzzer." Take a look at the previews from this weekend Britain's Got Talent returns on Saturday, April 15 at 8pm, and on Sunday April 16 at 7:45pm on ITV

  • Britain's Got Talent auditions start today with a new judge on the panel

Britain's Got Talent auditions started this afternoon at the London Palladium. Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon were joined by new judge Bruno Tonioli. Prepare to be entertained as this year’s Britain’s Got Talent returns to the London Palladium with performer Bruno Tonioli confirmed as the brand-new judge, joining Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon. Inimitable duo, Ant and Dec will also be returning as hosts ready to cheer and console the acts brave enough to brace the stage of the famous theatre. Bruno says: “Here we are, Britain’s Got Talent. I am so excited. It’s my first show, I have no idea what’s going to happen, but I’m sure it’s going to be brilliant.” Now in its 16th series, the multi-award-winning talent extravaganza is back and bigger than ever before with even more awe-inspiring and show-stopping performers all vying to impress the judges and secure their place in the live-semi-finals taking place later this year. Expect the unexpected as the acts battle it out for the chance to scoop the massive £250,000 prize and perform to royalty at the prestigious Royal Variety Performance. Britain’s Got Talent has delivered some of the most talked about performances and most memorable TV moments of the last decade and more, including Paul Potts, Diversity, Tokio Myers, Lost Voice Guy and of course superstar singer Susan Boyle. • Alan Carr set to replace David Walliams on BGT

Alan Carr is set to join Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon as the new judge on Britain's Got Talent. David Williams has confirmed he will not be returning this year and BGT bosses have been having talks with several people to find a replacement.. Alan has apparently been in talks with producers for weeks, with a source telling the Daily Mail: "Alan is hilarious but also kind. He tells a mean joke but he is also soft in the middle. "The bosses are already excited about how wonderful he will be with the contestants. He will complement the panel so well too, he is really close friends with Amanda and he has known Simon and Alesha for years too. I remember not just your voice but your personality. “I didn’t realise at that point how good you were, I just liked you, and I’m so thankful. “I can honestly say thanks to you I’m here today, genuinely, I swear to God. “Because you validated what we did – if we didn’t find a star there’s no point in doing these shows.
