Simon Cowell met up with his fellow American Idol judges in Hollywood to support Kelly Clarkson as she is honoured with star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles.
Kelly won the first American Idol back in 2002. Kelly has since gone on to become a successful music artist and talk show host.
Simon said: "American Idol would not have so popular if not for Kelly. Where we were very lucky with Kelly was that not only could we find someone with a hell of a good voice, but she also had this amazing sense of humour, personality, charisma,'
“I remember the day we met you. I remember not just your voice but your personality.
“I didn’t realise at that point how good you were, I just liked you, and I’m so thankful.
“I can honestly say thanks to you I’m here today, genuinely, I swear to God.
“Because you validated what we did – if we didn’t find a star there’s no point in doing these shows. And I could never predict what was going to happen.
“The Kelly you see in front of the camera is the Kelly you see behind the camera, she is one of the nicest, most loyal, talented people I have had the great, great fortune to help.”
It was so good to see Simon, Paula and Randy back together again, lets hope it happens again soon.
