Simon Cowell set to sign a 3 year deal for BGT and X Factor

Simon Cowell is set to sign a deal with ITV to keep Britain's Got Talent and X Factor on our screens until 2022.

X Factor producers have been meeting with ITV and apart from a few things to iron out the deal should be signed shortly.

The contract is said to be around the same as the last 3 years with no budget reduction. Simon is said to be earning £25m from the three-year contract.

A source told The Mirror newspaper: “There have been meetings recently between Simon’s producers and ITV executives to thrash out some of the details, but Simon is already planning how to build on the shows’ successes on ITV. Everyone is looking forward to the future.

“Whilst there may be some details in the paperwork still to be ironed out, from a fans’ point of view it is a three-year deal which means these much loved shows will remain on ITV for a long time to come.”

Whether the X Factor will return to it's original format is unclear. This year they are trying out a celebrity and and All-Stars version.

The judges for the celebrity version are confirmed as Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and Nicole Scherzinger.

Celebrities taking part are rumours at present, but among those are Gemma Collins of TOWIE fame, Brendan Cole ex Strictly pro, David Walliams and Glee star Kevin McHale.

Simon is also thought to have brought Pete Waterman onboard to help him with song choices. With Pete onboard we can expect a lot of lively pop numbers.
