UPDATE: In an announcement on This Morning, Rylan – who hosts X Factor’s spin-off show ‘The Xtra Factor’ – explained: “It has just been announced they won’t be coming back but I can confirm they will be replaced.“I can’t say who, but I think I know who it is.
Josh issued a statement regarding the claim. He said: "Due to events in my personal life I've decided that it's best not to be on the show at this time. While not everything that has been claimed is true I would like to apologise to everyone involved."
An X Factor spokesman added: “Following the allegations relating to Josh Brooks, we have decided by mutual consent that Brooks Way should leave the competition”.
Furthermore, it has been confirmed that they WILL be replaced by another group on the show. At the moment, details about their replacement have not been released, but “will be announced in due course”.
The 17-year-old duo were left in floods of tears after being told they were being removed from the hit ITV show pending an investigation.

An X Factor source exclusively tells The Sun Online: “The boys were in bits during the 90 minute meeting and completely broke down in tears.
“Show bosses went really hard saying they can’t tolerate that behaviour and they’re not welcome back at the studios.”
Now the reason behind the suspension has come to light and the boys have been permanently removed from the show.
Josh has been accused by his ex-girlfriend Amelia Clark of beating her up during their four year relationship, leaving Amelia with black eyes and a broken nose.
Amelia, 18, was allegedly left with black eyes, BITE marks, and bruising, and was once booted in the face by the 17-year-old singer from Brooks Way.
The attacks were allegedly so frequent that police begged her to apply for a restraining order against him.

Sources close to the band confessed earlier this week: "It was known throughout their camp that Josh had a big problem with anger - he would lose it with his fists if anyone spoke to him in a way he thought was disrespectful. "He regularly used to beat up Kyle, who wouldn't fight back
