Simon Cowell hopes to keep the viewing figures up by bringing in major changes to add more tension and excitement to the Britain's Got Talent live shows.
At present the five semi finals see the viewer vote for one act to go straight through to the final, with the judges choosing the second act from second and third place.
Now Simon Cowell wants to introduce the golden buzzer to each of the five live semi-finals, letting the judges plus Ant and Dec buzz favourite acts straight into the finals.
If the golden buzzer plan goes ahead, the judges and public will have a 50-50 say. A source told the Daily Mirror: “Producers believe it would make the five, live semis even more exciting.”
The source added “The golden buzzer is one of the favourite elements in the audition shows.“The atmosphere when it is pressed is incredible.
“It’s amazing. Simon and his team are on fire.”
This will give the judges and Ant and Dec the chance to guarantee their favourite acts get a spot in the final.”
