Simon Cowell's Company Syco Drop Sam Bailey From Record Label.

Sam Bailey has been dropped by Simon Cowell's record label Syco.

The singer rose to fame on the singing contest, winning back in 2013 and going on to release a bestselling album.

But a source told The Sun: "Music is a tough business. Simon realises most X Factor winners have a short shelf life."

A spokesman confirmed Sam was no longer with the label to the paper, adding: "Sam Bailey is no longer with Syco."

Sam's album The Power of Love was one of the fastest selling albums of last year, and she has continued to storms stages across the world since winning the show.

Sam has high hopes for the future however, and told the newspaper: "I'm really grateful for everything X Factor has done for me. I'm going straight into a studio to write after the tour.

"I would also maybe like to get into acting and I would love to do Strictly Come Dancing."

Showing her usual humour, the star added: "I'm happy I got my house extension - that's what I entered the competition for."

Sam confirmed she is no longer with Syco in a tweet earlier today.
