Rita Ora spills on her meeting with Simon Cowell to discuss her X Factor job.
Due to their busy schedules the meeting took place at midnight at Simon's house.
Talking to Dan Wootton for The Sun newspaper Rita said “He asked me to his house where he holds a lot of his X Factor meetings…”
"What made it special was when Simon asked me about X Factor, he told me about his plans for the show and how he was going to change it up." Rita went on to say "His house was incredible. It was actually a no pressure vibe, it felt very natural, it was professional and straight to the point."
When asked about her decision to drop The Voice in favour of X Factor, Rita explained that a return to the BBC show this year wouldn’t have been possible anyway because the filming schedule clashed with other pre-arranged commitments. She remarked, “I loved my time on the show, but I’m going to be out of the country when The Voice is shooting so I wasn’t going to be able to do it anyway.”
In other news, For the first time ever this year’s X Factor will see the Judges’ Houses broadcast live, but show bosses are unconcerned about the odd hiccup.
Four camera crews will go to various parts of the world to follow judges Simon Cowell, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, Rita Ora and Nick Grimshaw as they choose their finalists a show insider told RadioTimes.
“In a way, the main live shows are so well produced, people have forgotten they’re live. People will tune into live Judges’ Houses to see if it can be carried off.
“The way we see it, apart from scripted drama, people want live TV as much as possible,” the source added. The current plan is to live broadcast the performances from the acts and the moment they’re told whether they’ve made it through to the next stage.
It is thought Olly Murs and Caroline Flack will host the show from a studio in London.
