TV presenter and former X Factor contestant Rylan Clark-Neal is today announced as the co-host of the brand new series of ITV2’s The Xtra Factor.
Rylan, who will present alongside Radio 1 DJ and television host Matt Edmondson, is set to go full circle after first finding fame as a former X Factor finalist in 2012 when he was one of Nicole Scherzinger’s boys. Known for his cheeky demeanour and being larger than life, Rylan has since cemented himself as a much loved TV presenter on Big Brother’s Bit on the Side, This Morning and with his very own chat show, Up Late With Rylan.
Talking about his new presenting gig, Rylan says, “After four years of doing my thing it’s finally time for me to go back to where it all began but this time as a HOST of Xtra! I'm thrilled to be part of The X Factor once again and even more excited at the thought of knowing I won't be in the bottom two each week!
“I can't wait to get working with Matt and finally find our niche as the odd looking Ant and Dec. I'm so excited to work alongside the judges and Dermot and over the moon to be sharing the coming months with my Nicole as a fully-fledged Scherzy boy once more. Watch out Simon ... I'm back!”
The Xtra Factor will see a big change to the spin off show’s format this year as it will be going live from the very first episode, giving fans of The X Factor the chance to react to the night’s episode immediately after the audience has seen it.
The show will feature live interviews with contestants who have appeared on that night’s audition show, plus reactions from celebrity guests and interaction with fans on social media. There will also be the usual mix of unseen auditions, backstage gossip and exclusive access to The X Factor judges.
Nigel Hall, Global Head of Television, Syco says: “'Rylan is a huge talent and as one of The X Factor’s most memorable contestants, we are thrilled to welcome him back to where it all started. The Xtra Factor is in very safe hands with Rylan and Matt!”
X Factor this year is starting to look very exciting!
