Simon Cowell to pre-record Britain’s Got Talent Semi-finals this year
Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams will reportedly pre-record the Britain’s Got Talent semi-finals without an audience due to social distancing difficulties.
The semi-finals will fit into ITV’s X Factor slots on a Saturday night, hopefully screening in September.
Producers are looking at families and social bubbles being present during the recordings.
Insiders revealed to The Mirror Newspaper some acts will give them a problem in the studio such as large dance troupes. X1X the dance group from India will perform on home turf.
Other acts like Sign Along With Us which have disabled performers may be shielding so won’t be able to perform in the studio.
The Source added: “The idea is to get the run finished before Strictly is out of the blocks.”
It is a natural replacement for The X Factor. Even if a full audience isn’t possible."
Producers are hopeful they will have the audience back for the final.
