Simon Cowell's company Syco Entertainment announce that Tim van Rongen has today been appointed to the role of Senior Vice- President of the company.
Tim – who is one of global entertainment’s most accomplished and experienced executives – was most recently Executive Producer at Talpa Global BV where he worked on both The Voice and The Voice Kids in countries including the UK, China, Germany, France and Italy.
He will join Syco Entertainment – Simon Cowell’s globally renowned joint venture with Sony Music – in March and will be based in Los Angeles and London.
Tim’s role will be to focus on broadening Syco Entertainment’s television business across the globe, exploring new format commission opportunities and evolving successful established formats.
Tim’s first foray into the entertainment world came when he was just 15 years old – and he created, owned and managed his own successful youth magazine. Since then he has become one of the entertainment industry’s most respected and innovative producers.
Tim co-created one of the world’s first music shows, Starmaker (AKA Fame Academy and Star Academy) as well as serving as an on-air judge on the Dutch version of the show.
In 2010, he joined Talpa Media Group as a Global Casting Director and soon after became an Executive Producer for The Voice and The Voice Kids, where he focussed on the show in countries including the UK, China, Germany, France and Italy.
From a music perspective, Tim has secured numerous platinum records for artists in his role as an artist manager. In addition, whilst working for Mojo Concerts (Live Nation), Tim was a key creative on the successful launch of a number of international music festivals.
