Simon Cowell has given his support to the charity Cruelty Free International. who work to end animal experiments worldwide by investigating and exposing the reality of life for animals in laboratories.
They challenge decision-makers to make a positive difference for animals. And we champion better science and cruelty free living.
Simon took his dogs Squiddly, Diddly and Freddie along to be photographed y acclaimed photographer Rankin, who has joined oined Cruelty Free International to launch a high-profile campaign shining a light on the suffering of dogs in experiments.
Speaking about backing the charity, Simon said: ‘I have always loved dogs but had no idea how much happiness they would bring to my life,’ he said in the accompanying interview.
‘Squiddly, Diddly and, now, Freddie are hugely important members of my family - and even the thought of any dog being mistreated sickens me.
‘That’s why I'm supporting Cruelty Free International - to stop dogs being used for experiments in laboratories around the world. No dog should be treated in such a way. After all, they are a man’s (and woman’s) best friend.’
Simon Cowell joined other stars backing the campain including violinist Vanessa-Mae, comedian and author Julian Clary, and actors Michael Fox (Downton Abbey) and Eleanor Matsuura (Cuffs) were joined by their companion animals to call for an end to cruel dog research.
