Reports earlier today suggested The X Factor would be rested in 2017. Speculation circulated the show would be dropped after its contract with ITV ends later this year.
Reportedly, ITV said they could not run two singing shows and Britain's Got Talent, now they have the contract for The Voice, which it will begin screening in 2017.
However, a spokesperson for Simon Cowell's company denied the claims saying "The X Factor will not be rested in 2017". Negotiations on a new deal for the show are expected to begin in the coming weeks.
