Cancer sufferer Kian Musgrove who suffers from a rare childhood cancer neuroblastoma received a surprise invitation to Eric Cowell's birthday party.
Kian's mum Kat told ChronicleLive: “Two days ago I got a message from Eric’s mammy asking if we would like to go to his party. Simon paid for us to be chauffeur driven and our train journey, he’s so kind.

“I couldn’t believe it,” said Kat. “Kian was so excited and running around with Eric when he jumped straight into what he thought was a ball pit. But, in fact, it also had water in.
“Kian was soaking and had to be taken away by Eric’s nanny. They dried him off and ordered some more clothes for him. It was very good of them to do that.
“He’s just loving it. He’s running around and playing with Eric. He’s been jumping up and down on the bouncy castle with inflatable bananas. It’s been a brilliant day.”
“It has been a fantastic day and we thank Simon so much,” added Kat.
Kian and Kat were picked up by a chauffeur driven car at their home in Prudhoe, Northumberland, and taken to the train station to go to London. They were then picked up in a Jaguar and taken to a swanky hotel for Eric’s birthday celebration.

Neuroblastoma sufferer Kian and music mogul Simon became special friends when in 2016 the X Factor supremo was so touched by Kian’s story he donated £25,000 and paid for his flights to America for him to get pioneering treatment in New York.

He has recently returned from America where he has undergone his final round of treatment and the youngster’s family pray his cancer agony has come to an end.
