Simon Cowell falls for a 13 stone dog on Britain's Got Talent

Known for his love of dogs, Simon Cowell was bowled over by Hagrid the 13 stone Leonberger at the London Britain's Got Talent auditions.

Hagrid holds the Guinness World Record for the most sausages caught by a dog in 30 seconds.

The huge dog impressed judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, David Walliams and Alesha Dixon at the London Palladium as he tried to break his own world record.

A source told The Sun newspaper: “Simon’s face lit up when Hagrid walked on stage. At first just his owners were on stage dancing, then out of nowhere he ran on.

“The crowd were in stitches and the judges loved it. It was absolute chaos.“His owners promised if he made it through to the next round Hagrid would attempt to break even more records.”

The breed's name derives from the city of Leonberg in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. According to legend, the Leonberger was ostensibly bred as a "symbolic dog" that would mimic the lion in the town crest.

We do love a canine act in Britain's Got Talent. Could Hagrid be hot on the heels of Ashleigh and Pudsey, Jules and Matisse or Hypnodog?
