Simon Cowell wanted Madonna in the X Factor final, alas it doesn't look like it will happen.
‘Is there any artist I want on the show I haven’t had before? Madonna,’ Simon told Metro from his X Factor dressing room on Sunday night.
‘Will she be on the final? I don’t think so. But always next year. We always send an invite out.’ Simon said he aimed to get a guest performer that ‘you don’t normally see on many other shows’ – such as Prince.
Amid rumours that he is set to quit The X Factor to relaunch the American version of the show, the judge revealed to Metro ‘It’s a question of when. I’m not sure I would want to go back there and do it. I like doing the show here,’
‘There is another show I think will be on in America, a new one, which we’ve been working on for a few months. I can’t tell you [what it is, but] it is something I’m excited about.’
"Next year we’ll have a minimum of four shows on US networks."
