Simon Cowell Burgled In Early Hours While He And His Family Slept

Simon Cowell has been left badly shaken after his house was burgled in the early hours while his family was inside.

The crooks stole cash and jewellery in the 2am raid yesterday.

Simon , girlfriend Lauren Silverman and son Eric were at the £35million mansion when the burglars struck.

A source said: “It was clearly a very traumatic incident. Simon is just relieved that his family was safe and all right. Their safety is his number one priority.”

Police rushed to the luxury house in Holland Park, West London, but the burglars had fled.

Simon Cowell reeled in shock after a bodyguard woke him to tell of a raid at his £35 million mansion.

The value of what was taken thought to be well into six figures.

Simon's bodyguard was woken by an alarm being activated at 2.20am yesterday. By the time he reacted the burglar had fled in Holland Park, West London.

A family friend told The Sun: “Obviously Simon and Lauren are really badly shaken by this.

“It is a horrible violation of their privacy. But more than anything they are incredibly relieved no one was hurt.

As upsetting as it is, Simon can cope with losing possessions, as long as his family are safe. That is his one and only concern.

“Still, it’s incredibly worrying and he is obviously going to review security.

“He likes to live as normal a life as possible and doesn’t want his house to be like Fort Knox, but his family need to feel safe in their own home.”

The Met said in a statement: "Police were called to an address in W14 on Friday, 4 December at approximately 02:20hrs to reports of a burglary in progress."

"Officers attended the scene but the suspects had left the area."
