With The X Factor up against The Voice last night it was always going to be a close call with the viewing figures.
Both shows had peaks in audience figures, but The X Factor gained the audience they were aiming at with hiring two younger judges to appeal to the teenage viewers.
FOX ranked No1 among Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34 and Teens. In head-to-head competition last night, THE X FACTOR and The Voice tied as the No1 program of the night among Adults 18-49 (3.3 rating). Among younger demos, THE X FACTOR won the night outright, beating the next highest-rated show by +17% in Teens. In addition, THE X FACTOR grew +6% from its Season 1 finale
among Adults 18-34.
THE X FACTOR (P) posted a 3.3/10 among Adults 18-49, The Voice posted a 3.3 down -18% from their previous episode and down -21% from Monday night¹s premiere. In addition last night¹s installment of The Voice was down -45% from its third telecast last season.
In the 9-10p hour, THE X FACTOR grew by +41% among Adults 18-49 (3.8 vs.2.7) and +27% in Total Viewers (9.5 vs. 7.5 Mil.) compared to its 8-9pm hour.
According to Bluefin Labs, THE X FACTOR¹s premiere has 7 times more social buzz than The Voice¹s Monday premiere (1.4 million social comments vs. The Voice¹s 202K social comments).
All in all a strong start for The X Factor up among strong competiton on the night.
